My son has LOVED these books since age 1 and now he is 4 1/2 and STILL loves them! The Byron Barton board books are very easy to read and very interesting/educational. The "Fancy Nancy" books by Jane O'Conner (author) and Robin Preiss Glasser (illustrator) are probably are wonderful books for vocabulary building.
