I Have A Milkman! I Feel Like It’s The 1950’s AND I Love It!

I am SO excited today because I finally joined the milk delivery service here in town! We have lived here in Rhode Island for almost three years and I just never joined for some reason. I guess I thought it would be too expensive and I didn't know how to go about joining. I was always jealous though when I drove by houses with the Munroe Dairy boxes on their porches. I've lived in VA, OK, CA, and IL, and never had I heard of an old-fashioned milk … [Read more...]

Kids’ Book Review: Duck Soup by Jackie Urbanovic

Grocery Shopping Tips That Help!

Hard Time With Grocery Shopping! If I'm not distracted in the book section myself or the toy aisle for my son, I am usually meandering around the grocery store wondering what the heck I was there for in the first place. I almost always forget something, and I am notorious for having to go back and get something else to buy after we have already checked out (which of course my kids hate!). Here is a post I read today with great tips for shopping at … [Read more...]

Kids and Food Allergies: A Life Changing Diagnosis

My daughter and son both have friends they’ve met through school with food allergies. Some kids are allergic to one food, but others are allergic to many. Obviously, the more the kids are allergic to the harder to accommodate their food needs. The eight foods that account for 90 percent of all food-allergic reactions in the United States are: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts (e.g., walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, pecans), wheat, soy, fish, … [Read more...]
