As the stores are starting to have holiday music playing and setting up decorations, I ask myself what am I going to get the kids this year? Of course I asked my kids what they wanted and they responded with a resounding "HEXBUGS!" chant. They just really love these little robotic bugs. I thought when I bought some for them last year that they would get bored with them and I would find them under their beds. This has not been the case for us. … [Read more...]
Kids’ Book Review Day: “R is for Rhode Island Red”
"R is for Rhode Island Red," by Mark R. Allio is an educational alphabet book that teaches all about the State of Rhode Island. You can get a different book for each State. We got this book when we moved to Rhode Island to teach our kids (and ourselves) about the new State we moved to. We have also collected the other States we lived in; VA, MD, OK, CA and IL. It's a wonderful series for kids to read over and over, learn about States, and … [Read more...]

Book Review & Giveaway: “The No-Cry Picky Eater Solution”
I just finished reading "The No-Cry Picky Eater Solution" by, Elizabeth Pantley. It is seriously one of the best informational parenting books I've read in a long time. It came at the perfect time for me to read too! My 4-year old son has never been a good eater, and lately it has been getting worse. All he seems to do is ask for sweets or starve himself. It's been super frustrating, and I feel like I've been failing as a parent. A big … [Read more...]
What is Mommy Reading? – “Sarah’s Key”
Just finished reading "Sarah's Key" by, Tatiana de Rosnay. It was SO GOOD!!! I could not put this book down! It literally had me from page one! I loved the contrast of hearing Sarah's story from the past and Julia's story in the future. The chapters were SUPER short and the font switched with the voices. I kept wanting to find out what was happening, so I could not put the book down!!! I would think to myself, the chapters are so short … [Read more...]
