Kids’ Book Review Day: Fancy Nancy

The “Fancy Nancy” books by Jane O’Conner (author) and Robin Preiss Glasser (illustrator) are probably are wonderful books for vocabulary building.  We have many of them, both the hardback books and the Step-Into Reading paperback series.  My daughter was interested in them by age 3, and was even using words in her preschool class like stupendous, accessories, and lavender.  Here is what we like best about them:

1.  Easy to read (except for the vocabulary building words that are explained)
2.  Entertaining (for girls especially)
3.  Main character has quite a personality
4.  Meaningful themes and lessons taught in each book
5.  Illustrations are vibrant and sparkly (because of course Nancy is sparkly)

They are all on sale on right now!  Check them out on the right side bar of this page.  Collect them all!

Overall, highly recommend this series!  Site says they are recommended for 4-7 (Probably only a series girls would enjoy, but who knows?  My son listens to them too, and my daughter has dressed him in a tutu and tiara before).

* We really liked the original book, but also love “Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy,” and “Fancy Nancy: Bonjour Butterfly.”
