Our Trip ~ Day One #NewHampshire #StoryLand

Family Vacation ~ Day One
We are traveling to New Hampshire and Maine for our fun family getaway! Each day I will let you know what we did and what we thought. Who knows? You may like it and want to plan out the same trip one day! We live in Rhode Island, so we are lucky that places like New Hampshire and Maine are not too far!

It took us 3 1/2 hours to travel from RI to NH, and that’s even including driving through Boston in some mild traffic. Not bad at all! You could tell driving into New Hampshire how the State has a different feel. It is very beautiful with all the trees, and the Moose Crossing signs are our favorite!
We are staying in North Conway, NH, which is 10 minutes from Story Land Amusement Park (our motivation for being here). My daughter is almost 8 years old, and she’s never been to an amusement park before. We thought it was time!

The hotel we decided on is the Hampton Inn & Suites. I will be doing a full review of the hotel and Story Land on upcoming posts. Let’s just say TWO THUMBS UP on both places so far! The hotel is nice and clean, and has a pool with water-slides (BIG ONES)!

The amusement park (Story Land) was perfect today too! Many fun rides for the kids without it being too overwhelming. It is our first park experience. Our favorite rides so far are the Bamboo Shoot and the Polar Coaster. We are going back tomorrow for more! Did you know that if you enter Story Land after 3pm that you get free tickets to come back again? We are going back tomorrow and CAN’T WAIT!

For dinner we ate at the Muddy Moose, which is a cute and quaint restaurant and pub. The food and atmosphere are wonderful! After that we got dessert on the way home at Lickety Splitz! It is a yummy ice cream parlor with a “top your own sundae” bar! My daughter went overboard.

Overall day one of our trip has been amazing! I can’t wait to see what the rest of our trip brings. Thanks for coming along with us and check back daily to see what we did!
Do you have any family vacation plans this summer? If so, where to?

I can’t complain too much about where I live in upstate NY – just on the cusp of the Adirondack Mountains in Lake George, NY. It’s a great area for family vacations!

We went last year and will go again when my husband returns from Afganistan. I will definitely keep Muddy Moose in mind since I did not enjoy the McDs next door!
