A Princess Needs to Prepare
~ Getting Ready for Our Party with the Royal Ball 2.0 App ~
I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz about the new Cinderella Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD coming out on October 2nd! For this awesome new release of Cinderella, we decided we would have a fun movie viewing party for my daughter and her friends! To prepare for this party we needed to buy the essentials, and what better place than Walmart to get what we need! Before heading out to shop, I found this cool app to download to my iPhone called the Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 App. This would be a perfect addition to our shopping trip, and a great way to get the kids even more excited about the Cinderella DVD coming out! You can find the app yourself in the app store on your iPhone, or search for it in iTunes as well. We played with the app at home first and then it came to a screen that told us to visit Walmart to check out the Disney Princess outfits, so we headed to the store!
We decided it would be fun to follow what the app told us to do, as well as make sure we found everything we needed for our upcoming Princess Movie Viewing Party! We had many party supplies to purchase and we wanted to see what other Cinderella items we could find at Walmart as well!
We first went to the costume section to check out all the beautiful princess dresses! I had bought my daughter a Cinderella dress a few days earlier when I saw only one left in her size at another Walmart. I thought I better get it right then and not be sorry later. My daughter, Kendal, had not seen it yet, but I told her I had picked one up for her for the awesome party coming up. When we found the princess section of the costumes Kendal ran right up to the Cinderella one and said, “Oh look at this one, Mom! I love it!” I told her it was the exact one I had at home for her and she was super excited! This Walmart we were at had an awesome selection of princess dresses and accessories! The other I had been to did not have this much. We even checked out the Cinderella shoes and wig here, but the shoes were too small ~ No Prince Charming today I guess! And since Kendal already has blonde hair we decided we just needed a blue ribbon and she would be set.
After checking off the princess dress viewing on the app it directed us to head to the electronics section to find the Cinderella Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD cover. We headed there only to find the fabulous party supply section on the way. We had to stop and get some party favors, decorations, plates, cups, balloons, table cover, etc. for the party! I love that there was a complete section just for a Cinderella party! The party favors were a great find at $9.00 for the entire 48-piece set (8 of each item), and since we were hopefully having 8 girls total at the party this would work great! After picking up these items we will be all set!
After grabbing all these cool supplies for the party we decided to check out the electronics section to find the Cinderella Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD or any news about the release. As we suspected, there was nothing out yet as the release date is October 2nd! We’ll have to come back then! We did check out the toy section a bit to get psyched for Cinderella, and we played with the app a bit more. It was really cool because you can actually take pic of yourself with the app as if you were in the stagecoach headed to the ball and as Cinderella too! How awesome is that? And you can choose to print out the pictures right there at Walmart or email them to yourself or your friends! Very cool! This Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 App really did make shopping so much more fun and exciting! The kids loved it and are SO psyched for the movie!
Now that we are SUPER excited for the release of the movie on October 2nd and we are preparing for our awesome viewing party, there is only one last thing to get us ready! Select Walmarts are having a Retailtainment Event on October 6th from 11-3pm. This event is happening in limited stores, and so contact your local Walmart for more information. You can come with your daughter who should be dressed as her favorite princess for pumpkin decorating, interactive activities, coloring activities, and much more! We can’t wait for this wonderful event and Kendal will be dressed in her Cinderella outfit and ready!
