I remember sitting and watching The King and I with my parents over 30 years ago on laser disk, and I absolutely loved the story and music. I love that I can share this childhood treasure with my kids. Seeing it come to life on broadway will be even more impressive than watching it on screen. The costumes are sure to be amazing, and I can’t wait to hear the music live, which will include beloved classics as “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance,” and “Something Wonderful.” I remember dancing around the room with my parents to these! Such great memories!
You can share this 2015 Tony Award® winner for Best Musical Revival with your family. Just visit PPAC in Rhode Island October 30th – November 6th in Providence! This show takes place in 1860s Bangkok, and the musical tells the story of the unconventional relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. The story development between these two characters is amazing, and there are some great lessons learned in this production as well. Don’t miss it!

OMG! I have loved The King and I since I was a little girl. I’ve watched the movie with my daughters and, like me, love it so much. They love musicals as much as I do 🙂 I’d bring my daughters and a friend and is there any other reason than all that glorious singing and dancing? Crossing my fingers!
I would take my mom, sister and niece / it would be a nice respite before the holidays and the hustle and bustle starts
Congrats Joy!!! You WON!!!
I want to see this show because I have never seen it before and I’ve heard it’s great. I would bring my family 🙂
I love PPAC and would bring my kids who love shows!
We LOVE PPAC! Just saw Wicked and if was incredible!! Did you know that Lion King tickets go on sale in Friday? We are so excited for that one!!
I’m not sure, but we would love the Lion King too! I’ll let you know what I find out!
Ahhhhhhh!!! What an amazing giveaway! I’ve loved The King and I since I was a little girl. I may or may not have always had a crush on Yul Brynner. Weird. Would love to take Cole and Evan and we’d take Ms. Lisa along to round out the four pack since Henry’s not quite ready for live theatre yet. Thanks for the opportunity!
