My 9–year daughter wanted to create some fun cupcakes for our Disney Side Celebration Party. I let her come up with the ideas, help me bake them, and then she decorated them all herself. She calls them Magic Mickey Cupcakes, and she had a blast making them for our party. Here are the steps to make them:
Gather all ingredients for the recipe
Bake cupcakes according to the instructions on the box
The box mix made 24 cupcakes
Counting out 12 cupcake wrappers
While the cupcakes were baking, she counted York Peppermint Patties for ears
She unwrapped them all to get them prepared for decorating
Having kids learn to bake helps them with many skills (counting, measuring, following instructions, having a sense of accomplishment)
After the cupcakes cooled, she used the frosting can to frost the cupcakes
The “Easy Frost” frosting made for pretty decorating
Now she added the York Peppermint Patties for the ears
Mickey needs two ears!
Then she used red sprinkles for her “Magic Pixie Dust”
Some were complete like this ~ Pretty Magic Mickey Cupcakes!
For additional fun, she added Mickey eyes on some cupcakes for the kids
She was very proud of her creation for the party! She got her #DisneySide on! Easy enough for a 9-year old to make (with some help with the oven)!
