Have you ever tried a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine? If not, then you are missing out! They are a great way to get soda and flavored water tailored to your taste, as they give you choices from more than 100 available brands. I am lucky enough to have one just around the corner from me at a local Wendy’s! In fact, I am even luckier because now through November 24th, I have access to using the new Coca-Cola Freestyle App that is being test marketed in my area. There are only three areas throughout the US that are testing this app, and the Providence, RI area is included in this market.
So, how does this sweet app work? Simple. You can download it on your smartphone for free by searching out the Coca-Cola Freestyle App in the App Store. Once downloaded you can login with Facebook, share with your friends when you check-in at the machine, and share with friends the kind of mixes you create. Yes, you can create your very own unique mixes on the app and name them. What I love best is that you can even slide the percentages of soda combinations to make the perfect mix. I made one that I named “Cherry Madness” because I just love Cherry in my drinks. My other favorite is Vanilla Coke! YUM!
Now for the coolest part of the app…. As if it couldn’t get any cooler, but it does. Not only can you create your very own mix and share it with your friends, but you can also “bump” your phone to the machine or scan the QR code onto your phone to have the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine make your drink for you! How awesome is that? Anything you create on your phone can be dispensed for you by simply “bumping” your phone against the Freestyle screen or scanning a QR code. Normally, you just chose flavors that are listed on the machine’s screen, but with this app you can explorer and create your own favorite unique mix.
You will find displays around Wendy’s on the tables showing step-by-step how to use the app. It’s fairly simple as I stated above. Just download the free app, use it to find participating locations by typing in your zip code, create and save your own unique mixes, and bump or scan to get your favorite concoction dispensed right into your Wendy’s cup! I think it’s fun to share the mixes you make online with your friends as well. It definitely takes the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine experience to a whole new level!

This is really neat , the coolest app I have seen , the things people think of is so awesome , I have never used the coco-cola app. But I hope my local Wendy”s has this because I want to use the app . I would totally use the app at our movie theatre because my kids would love it and we usually have free drink coupons. We got the coca cola machines about 4 months ago. Super cool!
I would absolutely try it I love the Idea of making and creating a new unique drink. I am a total techi so I know I would use it, also as a mom nice to be able to get drinks everyone in my family would love.

Sounds like a fun app but I have actually used a free style machine before and when I want a plain coke it always tastes like other fruity flavors. They seem to leave residual syrup on the machine.
This app is interesting. It has me intrigued enough so that I would intentionally purchase a beverage in this method just to use the app. I would use it. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to try it out.
These machines are awesome! I saw one last week at a Burger King. Had NO clue about the app though! Going to download it then find another machine! (The other one was far away when I was traveling.) I really like the idea of this app, but I don’t think I would use it since I do not eat fast food. I will, however, pass it on to my (grown) kids. I think they would enjoy it! I love these new machines where you can add your own flavorings, but honestly…
What do you think about the idea of this app? Might be okay for those that have nothing better to do with their time, but please don’t share with me and waste mine. Businesses seem to believe we are married to our smartphones and incapable of doing anything for ourselves anymore.
Would you use it? No. By the time I get my phone out of my purse, open the app, and scan it with the machine I could have pushed a few buttons and already be enjoying my drink.

It’s good to be honest Cindy! One cool things about the app is that you can save your favorites, so it will actually take you less time to make your favorite combination from the machine. Just touch the one you named, bump it, and it will dispense for you! I’m sure this app is good for some and not for others. I appreciate your candid comment.

These machines are so freakin’ cool, but I’ll admit I have had a delay wanting to play around with all the options. Great idea to make your mix on your phone and have it ready when you go to fill ‘er up!
I am so in love with technology!!!!!!! My little guy is begging me to take him up to the burger store near us so he can start creating his mixes! (my daughter said that there is a series of buttons to push on these machines that unlock hidden flavors?? I wonder if this is true!)

I sometimes choose my restaurants depending on if I’m in the mood for that machine! I LOVE trying different combos. I like the vanilla rootbeer in the machine a lot but I really love the idea of mixing something on my own with the app!
Ok, this is super cool! I would totally use it. We love it when we find out that a restaurant has one of these Coca-Cola machines. There is a Wendy’s in the next town over we eat at sometimes and they have one. I want to play with that app!!
There is a place here that has something similar, but the small fry just mish mashes a ton of stuff together and never follows what it tells him LOL. THIS would be so much better than that 🙂

Its a cool idea we dont have one ofthese machine sin wendys but we do have them in our gas station didnt know you could access it with an app to make a drink the way you want it how cool is that so yes id use it and try it

oh. my. gosh. this is freakin’ brilliant! I rarely drink pop because of the hfcs and never diet because of the aspartame… but I did try a machine like this at noodles & company… i put vanilla flavoring in my root beer… and then raspberry in my tea… and wanted to stay an extra hour just so I could try all sorts of combinations. I’d love to try the app and see what kind of combos other people like. 🙂

It’s a neat concept. I don’t see me using the app, I’d be the one that just goes up to the machine and plays with it. I wouldn’t take the time to mess with the app.
I LOVE the machine and wish there were more near me! I used one at a Wendy’s in Santa Clarita, CA, when I took my kids to Magic Mountain. I was thinking that the app was kinda hokey, aimed at my preteen daughter’s age group. Then I read that I can create my own custom drinks … and the machine will make them for me. SOLD! I’m in!
