Getting Things Done with Energizer Headlights #LightMyWay

CB Disclosure

My wife and I moved from a condo into our first single family home a little over two years ago. We love our neighborhood, our yard, and all the space for our growing family. What we don’t always love is maintaining and updating our thirty year old home. Needless to say, my Honey-Do List is currently a few pages long.  My most recent project involved updating our family room. My wife was nice enough to let me fulfill a personal dream to create a Man Cave. In order to hide the wires that connect my TV, Projector, and audio system, I had to run wire across the room into some dark spaces, with little access. Managing wires and fumbling with a flashlight was cumbersome and inefficient and I quickly found myself in need of a work headlight.

I went to my local Walmart to search for a good product that would meet my needs, and I decided on the Energizer Headlight.

I chose this lamp because it was the brightest light available, at 70 lumens and the beam could extend to 250 feet. The Energizer Headlight also had multiple modes including night vision, spotlight, projection, and flood.

One of the nice features of this product is that it came with three Energizer AAA batteries. I also grabbed a 16 pack of Energizer Max AAA batteries, so I’ll always have light when I need it.

Once I got home, I put the headlight into work immediately. While I was out shopping, my wife had blown a fuse while drying her hair. I grabbed my headlight and headed to our electrical cabinet to find the culprit.

My son also had fun trying the headlight on for size. We loved that the head strap was adjustable and comfortable for both children and adults.  My son will use it for reading in the dark, playing outside to catch bugs and for playing games with friends.

This bright headlight ended up being just what I needed to complete my wiring project. I also could see myself using this not just for work around the house, but also for family activities like evening bike rides and nighttime walks with the kids. Obviously my son loved the headlight too, and I’m thinking a game of flashlight tag could also be in order.

Make sure to check out my shopping trip at Walmart in my Google+ Album. Also, you can find Energizer on Facebook and Twitter.

  2. this looks awesome! and your little man is adorable 🙂

  3. I can think of a bunch of things I could use that for! Especially when we have storms here in Florida where we lose power. And, yes, flashlight tag would be fun, too!

Wow this is perfect for so many things around the house! Definitely when the power is out and a fun way to keep kiddos calm and I love the idea of using them for biking with the kids too!

  5. Great tip since I went through a blackout last year during Storm Sandy

A work headlight would be great. With all the power outages here, we need a good headlight!

  7. I want to get my grandkids those headlamps!! They would love them!!!

  8. This sounds like a great product. I love that it is adjustable so the children could use it too. A hands free light would be much appreciated in this house. I can see it being used when our electricity goes out, which happens more than we like around here.
    Thanks for the great review.

  9. those look fun and useful as well!

  10. this would be so handy to have for a variety of different situations

  11. We have one of those that is similar, and it is really nice. I love that you showed him wearing it while messing with the breaker!! They work great if the power goes out or say the light doesn’t work!

    Your son is too cute!

  12. My son would love love this headlight! IT would have come in handy this past week. We lost power for 2 days due to a small tornado that hit our area, and we were using oil lamps

I absolutely love these headlights!! My in laws have them for automotive repair! We’ve been quite jealous of them! So I’m actually going to pick some up today for our family! They aren’t as expensive as I thought they were. So it’s time to stop being envious of the in laws! Lol.

  14. Those are perfect for camping and seeing in crawl spaces. My kids would have a blast with them too!

  15. Your son is cute wearing it. I know my sons would love to have one to play with. My husband does have one, and it is pretty useful.

  16. These are the most versatile little flashlights! They’re great for working in the attic or crawl space too!

we were just camping and a few times I had to walk in the dark. It would have been nice to have this instead of carrying a light.

  18. I love that these are so versatile for kids and adults! They are so useful for so many things in a household!

  19. I would totally use this for reading lol. But really, it would be handy for times when the electricity goes out for some reason, I don’t like using candles too much because of my furbabies 🙂

  20. My family would totally use these head lights for SO many things! Thanks for posting about them!

  21. That looks very handy. I wish I had this for my daughter when she went to camp. If she goes next year, I’ll have to look for it.
