Family Picture Time at JCPenney Portrait Studio
We get our pictures taken at least once a year. With a 7-year old and 5-year old in the house, they grow-up so fast and you want to cherish every memory and every stage in their development. Once we tried pictures at a very fancy place in town, but when it came time to picking them out for print we could only afford a few shots. It was very frustrating. We decided the next year we needed to find somewhere more affordable, and that’s when we found JCPenney Portrait Studio. It’s right here in our local mall, and we were surprised that the quality of the session and pictures were so nice and very professional! That’s our “go-to” place now to get pictures taken, because not only to they perform a professional job, but we also are able to afford to pick out more pictures. They always have great specials running, and we are even members of their Portrait Perks Program to get even more discounts.
We are due now for a visit to the studio, and we are very happy to see this great special going on right now; $20 for 6 traditional portrait sheets (mix and match size and images) as well as one free $9 sitting fee. That’s a great deal! Check out JCPPortraits online for the deal. Our last place was $20 for one picture. You can find a studio near you online. Just visit JCPPortraits’s site and then just click on the red button at the top right that says “Schedule a Session.” Type in your zip code and it will pull-up all the Portrait studios close to you. You can just set-up your session online! Easy as that!
Remember when taking a family photo or even just photos of the kids, you need to plan ahead. Know what you want and plan your outfits accordingly. You only have a certain time-slot allotted to you, so make the best of it. Know what colors/backgrounds you may want, know if you will want an outfit change, know if you want props or themes, and know if there is a certain pose you want to see. I have always taken a picture every year of my kids facing each others. It is so cool to see how they grow and change each year. I love lining these up.
(From the JCP session last year)
I would say the most difficult part of the photo session is choosing the pictures at the end that you want to order. They take so many great shots, and you can also choose from different layouts so it’s hard. I want them all! Also, if you have kids please bring something to entertain them during this time because choosing under stress with misbehaving kids in the background makes it even harder.
Good luck with your next portrait session, and remember money spent on photos are well worth it because your kids are only this age once. Don’t put it off. Our yearly session is coming up too and we are going to take advantage of the great deals JCPenney’s Portrait Studio has to offer! Check out my pinboards on Pinterest to see what inspirations I’m gathering for my kids’ next portrait session.
Some More Shots From Last Year’s Session at JCP (and this year we’ll make sure Dad gets in the picture):
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of jcpenney Portrait Studio. I was asked to create a Pinterest Board and pin at least five (5) pins. I give jcpenney the right to repin any or all images/original content from this board. I received a promotional item as a thanks for my participation.

That is an awesome deal – I love that you get to pick the shots. I’ve been to studios that say: “Okay, this next photo is going to be for the ‘special'” and you get what you get! No thanks. I can’t wait to see your photos 🙂
Those are great pictures! I bet it will be neat to look at how they have changed in the pictures of them facing each other.

Love your pictures!
Love the pictures! When I lived in a different area we used to go to JCP picture studios but our local JCP here doesn’t have a portrait studio. They did turn out very nice though!
Your kids are gorgeous and those are some great shots!! Good deals too!! Thank you for sharing!
Looks like a great deal.
That is an incredible price for those portraits. JCP does a fabulous job.
those look great, and I didn’t know that JCP did photos, I must have been living under a rock but we were spending a fortune elsewhere.
Those are great pictures. I love the fact that JCP studios offers sheets for sale instead of having to purchase a whole “package”.
