The Lorax Movie: Out in Theaters Now!
I took my kids to see The Lorax this weekend. It was such a great movie! My kids and I both loved it. It has humor for all ages, very catchy and upbeat music (we will have to find the CD now), the graphics were bright and detailed, and of course the lessons learned from the film were the most important. I actually got many questions from my 7 and 5-year old kids on the way home about why it’s important to have trees around and why we should keep the Earth clean. It was great!
One great way to get tickets, is to order them online beforehand. It will save you from the crowds and it’s super easy to do! Fandango.com is one site where you can purchase tickets online.
All you need to do is choose your theater, your movie, find an available time in red, click to purchase with your credit card, print out your receipt, and take it to the ticket collector at the theater! It saves you from those LONG lines to buy tickets.
The Lorax Movie Description on Fandango.com:
Dr. Seuss’ classic, environmentally themed children’s book comes to the big screen in this tale of a young boy who encounters a cantankerous forest creature after venturing outside of his artificial city in search of a tree. Ted (voice of Zac Efron) lives in a town where nothing is quite as it appears; everything is plastic, including the plants. Hopelessly smitten by the beautiful Audrey (voice of Taylor Swift), who dreams of one day seeing a real tree, Ted boldly leaves the city determined to find the flora and grant her wish. Along the way, the young adventurer crosses paths with the Lorax (voice of Danny DeVIto), a diminutive, mustached defender of nature who doesn’t take kindly to human intruders. The better Ted gets to know the Lorax, however, the more he learns that his newfound friend has good reason for being a bit surly. Also featuring the voices of Betty White, Ed Helms, and Rob Riggle. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
We decided to get to the theater early because we knew it would be a sell out and we wanted good seats. It was the first weekend showing and it was raining out. Great time to watch a new movie!
It did end up being a sell out, but the movie was well worth the crowd. I’m sure it will be one we purchase for our home collection when it comes out in DVD, but I highly recommend seeing it in the theater as well. The music and the graphics are worth seeing it on the BIG SCREEN!
My daughter especially loved that Ted (the little boy) was trying to win over a girl named Audrey by finding a “real tree” and not an electric tree like most of the town had. I liked the interactions between Ted and his grandmother (hysterical), and my son liked all the animals in the forest and that they loved to eat marshmallows. There is SO much to love about this movie! If you’ve already seen it please leave me a comment telling me your favorite part! I would love to hear it!

OMG we love the movie!!! We did buy our tickets a head of time for that reason. All the shows sold out so fast!! Was worth the crowd. My daughter kept asking questions through the whole movie (shes almost seven) and the whole way home they were talking about the lessons the movie had. We just ordered books from Amazon for the kids as they now want to read them all!!!
AWESOME!! It’s so nice to have the books too!!!

Cute looking movie. I really want to bring my daughter to see this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.
I plan on taking my daughter during the week when the theaters are less crowded. She really doesn’t understand what the movie is about but knows the Lorax when she sees it advertised. Marketing does pay off! 😉
Sounds like you had a blast!
I can’t wait to see the Lorax!! I just got into town but plan to take my daughter to see it on Tuesday!
This looks like a fun movie! Can’t wait to take the kids!
We’re frequent movie goers (I’m determined to raise movie lovers who will disappear into the theater with me for a whole days of movie watching!). I’ll have to check out Fandango. With littles in tow, it sounds like a great way to avoid lines!
We took my two older girls yesterday to see it and they loved it! Even though they’re only 4.5 and 2.5, they were both mesmerized and our oldest kept asking us if she could plant some trees on the way home. My 2 year old kept saying, “that was a GREAT movie!” Such a good message and I’m sure we will be planting a tree as soon as we can!
It looks like such a cute movie! Can’t wait til it comes out on DVD so we can watch it with O 🙂
Great review – my mother is planning to take the boys next weekend, hoping I’ll get a chance to see it too!!
