We own and have tried out many of their products. My kids love their LeapPads! They read books on them, watch movies, play music, draw pictures, play educational games, etc. I really don’t mind them spending time on their LeapPads because I know they have educational value. We also really love the LeapFrog Tag! My son uses it to learn to read (he is 5), and my daughter (age 8) loves the human body discovery pack. It has games and information, and she can always find something new to do with it!

Well, some of these items aren’t really age appropriate for my almost 2 yo so while I could hoard them until she was old enough, some of these things will go to the little boy I babysit. His mom is getting divorced and his dad is several states away. He is at home by himself a lot (he’s always supervised by an adult, he just doesn’t have anyone to play with) and is having a really hard time making friends at school. He failed kindergarten last year. He is 6 years old and *cannot read*. He gets overwhelmed easily and won’t even try to learn things because it’s hard. The boy is really really sweet and acts much older than his years (hence his trouble fitting in at school–plus I live in an area where most of the kids speak spanish as a second (first in some cases) language and he does not and they exclude him for this). I got him a kitten as an early christmas present, but something like this would absolutely make him bloom I think.

We love Leapfrog in this house and despite the fact that my nearly 10 year old would say he’s ‘too old’, it never fails that when his sister starts playing, he is soon right next to her telling her what to do. So we keep these around for long car rides, really cold winter days, when I am cooking dinner and on our family game nights. We try to limit electronics, but with these, I don’t feel guilty!

Wow – what a great giveaway. Our family has 2 boys, ages “almost 6” and “almost 3” who both LOVE LeapFrog “toys” because they have fun learning. I love that part of the LeapFrog toys, they are both fun and educational, and the kids often don’t see that they ARE learning, they just think they are having fun playing games. 🙂
Boy would I love to win. The LeapFrog tablet would go to our almost 3, with some of the games we already have that our almost 6 year old has outgrown, and he would get the new games, which are perfect for his age and development!
We have a Tag reader (2 actually – and love them BOTH!), so that would be our gift to our good friend A.
