  41. Being young. Being at my Aunt Carol’s house with all the extended family. Playing with my cousins and having no worries but getting mom to let me have more dessert. The start of warm socks, wood stoves, comfy quilts…listening to my relatives (especially the ones that are no longer with us) chatter and laugh together after a hearty meal. Some of the best times.

  54. My grandparents walking up the hill to our home with a huge bowl of fresh fruit salad with real whipped cream!

  55. This was my first Thanksgiving with my now husband and his family. I made Spinach Maria, but we had to rename it as that was the name of his ex-wife. The dish was very popular, and I came up with it based on ingredients that his parents had on had about a month prior. I surprised them with dinner after a long drive back from a funeral. Now, I bring pumpkin mini muffins and pumpkin bread due to making a batch from a Libby’s kit, and also due to the fact that there were not a lot of desserts for the Thanksgiving feast.

  56. I’ve hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the last 15 yrs since my mother-in-law passed away. Our family is grown so much, it really amazes me. I take all the teenagers in the family nieces, nephews, my own, and anymore that join in and we go serve at the Salvation Army. This instantly gets rid of all the teenage attitude. After the day is through I keep them all at my house to help with the baking and pre-made items. The talks & the laughing the night before really make Thanksgiving that much more special to me.

  57. what i love is when we are cooking we have such much fun. (ruth ramos)

The next year we lost most of our family (my grandfather, all my great grandparents, 2 second cousins, etc.). We have never been the same big family ever since. I now have a 7 month old girl, an amazing husband, all of his and my remaining family, and we are now 5 months pregnant with a little boy!!!! Hopefully the memories just keep building with the years!!!

  88. Adrienne H says:

My favorite Thanksgiving memory is the first year my daughter and I were at a shelter, they had an amazing dinner and lots of volunteers came, it was incredible and lifted our spirits.

  89. The first time my younger sis & I actually cooked the turkey dinner ourselves. We had such a huge turkey my sis used the sink sprayer while I held & turned the bird. Best ever 🙂

  90. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I think my favorite memory would be last year when I hosted and my whole family came over.
