My Baby is Going to Kindergarten!!!

Life is Different Now
~ We are a Family with Big Kids ~
I knew the time would come sooner or later (hoping it would be later), but my babies are now grown. This fall my baby will be in kindergarten. At least it’s only a half day program where I live, so I will still have one last year to spend time with him before he’s full-day. I need to make sure I use this time wisely. I know blogging takes up time during my day, so I will do my best to squeeze three hours of work in while he’s at school and then spend time with him when he gets home.
So I have a 5-year old and an 8-year old! One kid off to 3rd grade and the other one to kindergarten! How did this happen? I remember delivering my daughter in California like it was yesterday, and for sure delivering my son in Illinois. How has time passed so quickly? It makes me sad we won’t have any baby stuff around the house. No longer the smell of a newborn or the watching for first steps. I am now a family with big kids.
I’m sure there will be positives to having big kids too. We can travel much easier and expenses on baby items (diapers, different foods, etc) will be cut down. I am proud to see how my two kids have grown into kind and caring little people, who are very inquisitive and love reading, playing, and the outdoors. I just wish I could slow down time a little. I’m sure the only way to do that is to really live in the moment and not think about the craziness of what’s due tomorrow/next week. I just need to live and enjoy them. Time flies just too fast!
I know my kids will love being at the same school this year! My two big kids off to school next week to embark on a year that will go by way too fast. I love them so much!

 And now they’re ALL grown!!

  28. We were just talking about this at home. Ours are going into 10th grade, 6th grade, 1st grade and two in preschool. Really enjoying every moment of our 10 month old. Not just us as parents but the whole family. They just grow up way too fast.

  29. I have 4 kids and two of them are already out of school. My other two are the 8th grade this year. I can remember going with each of them on the first day of school at like kindergarten and 1st. Such sweet babies. As a mom I’ll always love them and each stage of their lives. My oldest daughter has two children, my grandsons, in just a few years they will be starting school. 🙂

  30. My baby girl (my oldest) will be starting kindergarten and it is full day. I’m looking forward to it (and being home with my 15 month old) but I can’t believe the time is really here!!! What’s even weirder is the\at I am (soon-to-be) stepmom to a 14 and 15 year old!!! It’s crazy getting “thrown”into that age but I’ve also seen them grow for the last 3 years <3

  34. so cute with such a great mom.

  35. I agree. Every time I see my nieces and nephews again, I notice they get a little bit older and bigger, only to tell more than that kids not only grow up so fast, they just become harder to miss their fleeting past times.

  36. I can relate I just took my youngest to his open house for first grade tonight and it made me sad. My oldest is now in 7th grade and that makes me sad also.

  37. Cute kiddos!

  38. Adorable:) Kids grow up so fast.

  39. I am feeling the same way. My kids are growing up so fast. My oldest is starting school and I can still remember giving birth to him…every detail. God bless! Enjoy your kiddos…they’ll be grown before you know it!

My children have children now. Getting old is fun when you have your grandchildren to play with:)

  47. I can definitely sympathize, my son just turned 20 and is in his 3rd year of college. It just seemed like I turned around and he was all grown up

I feel your pain, my oldest turns 18 in September, my middle one is now 10 and my youngest is 5. Time passes so quickly, if you aren’t careful it will disappear in the blink of an eye.
