Kids’ Book Review Day!

Kids’ Book Review: One
I came across this book while browsing in the kids’ section at Barnes & Noble searching for a book for my son’s preschool teacher. It is “One” written by author Kathryn Otoshi. The cover looked mysterious to me because it was so plain, but the story is anything but plain. I read the book and decided this was the “one!”  It is so great for kids ages 4 and up, and by up I mean this can even be used by teachers for character education lessons in middle school.
The story is a wonderful story about how the color red is picking on the color blue. The colors were so sad when red was mean to them all, and especially to blue. Then the number one came along and told blue to stand up for himself. Once the colors began to stand up for themselves they turned into numbers as well, because “everybody counts!”
To see what happens to blue and to see the lesson at the end you need to get this book! It is GREAT! I bought it at B&N for $16.95, but now I see on Amazon you can get it on SALE for $10.59 and free super saver shipping! That is fantastic!
