Fifty Shades Party ~ An Evening of Fun Conversation

There Were Fifty Shades of Everything at This Party ~ A Fun Night to Remember
I’m sure most of you have heard of if not read the Fifty Shades Trilogy! I am just about done with the first book, and I am definitely going to read the next two. I know there is some controversy to the series, and some people may not be comfortable reading it which is fine. I found the first book to be entertaining and kind of a mystery. I kept wanting to know what was wrong with this Christian Grey character? It might be my background in psychology, but I wanted to figure him out! And for the matter, figure out Ana Steele as well! The book definitely has interesting and complex characters. Well, whether you read it or not, I am writing this post because I had so much fun at my friend’s themed party! I just love themed parties, so I wanted to share some of the ideas she had. She is really a smart lady and should have her own party-planning business!! It started when you walked in the front door. There was a grey tie on the doorknob. If you’ve read the books then the decorations will obviously make more sense to you.

Next, she had all kinds of food with notes written on each that included their origin and how they can be considered an aphrodisiac. She basically had every food that was mentioned in the book, plus some extra to boot! Also, she very cleverly attached the notes with duct tape and ribbon.

She also served drinks with cute names and wine as well. They were always having a glass of something in the books!
As for the decorations, she went all out! Everything was grey! She had multiple grey ties on the table wrapped around vases with handcuffs, duct tape, ribbon, rope, candles, you name it and she had it! It was very cool!

As for the conversation, I will leave most of that to your imaginations. We talked about the book, how the characters related, played a fun little game, and named who we thought should play the characters in the movie. We thought Natalie Portman for Ana Steele, and as for Christian Grey we were torn. Many names were thrown out there for people we thought could play him. What do you think? Who could play him in a movie? And do you like themed parties like this one? Maybe you can plan your own Fifty Shades Party now!

I would LOVE to see Johnny Depp as Christian Grey! I just got books #2 and #3 in yesterday, and plan to start them tonight. Already done w/ #1 obviously. I live a BDSM lifestyle. My husband is my Master, and I, his slave. I have never read a “romance novel” that was geared toward my lifestyle, so this series is absolutely amazing to me!

  6. I haven’t read the books yet but the decorations and food look great!

Why not go all out and just as RPattz and Kristen Stewart, since Fifty Shades is based on Twilight fanfiction anyway?

  8. I think I was one of the last people to know about this trilogy! I love theme parties and this would definitely be entertaining!

  9. I love it…what a great idea!

  22. I think the party looks like a lot of fun. I read only a few pages of Fifty Shades of Grey and skimmed through it. I don’t see how it’s any different than other erotica book already published, but to each his own.

THANK YOU!!!! I am hosting a 50 Shade of Grey Pure Romance party in a few weeks – and I’ve been trying to figure a way to incorporate the book into the “other stuff” – I knew I wanted to have a questionair for the consultant to be able to use for people to get points to win a prize – and I knew I wanted it VERY themed – as about 90% attending are reading or are just finishing (one of the rules in order to attend LOL) so THANK YOU for your blog/post and being able to find it via Swagbucks LOL
