And The Journey Begins…….

Summer is coming sooner than you think, and everyone is working to shed those extra few pounds put on during the winter “fluffing up” season. I always seem to work harder when I know someone is watching, so I am very excited to tell you all I have been chosen by Nutrisystem to become a “Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!”

I previously did Weight Watchers before my wedding back in 2001, and I lost 30 pounds with the program. I then joined the staff at Weight Watchers for 2 1/2 years as a receptionist and a leader.Β  It was a great way to stay on track, and I truly loved working for them. I ended up leaving the job after moving and having a child. I didn’t lose all the weight from child number one, and then after child number two…….. (you can guess). Now, I am back to needing to lose the 30 pounds again. Of course we all know the magic to losing weight; tons of water, eating less and healthier, and getting some form of exercise. It’s easier said than done (as many people can attest to).

(At My Wedding in 2001 After Weight Watchers)

I decided to try Weight Watchers again this past year, but for some reason it just didn’t work for me this time around. I know it probably wasn’t the program, it was more me. I just could never get motivated and I was resistant to the changes in the program. I now think I just need a fresh start with a NEW PROGRAM so I can gain motivation and get to my goal. I am so excited to try Nutrisystem, as I have heard so many fabulous things about the program. I hear the meals are great, it is so planned out that you don’t have to think as much about what to do because they just tell you, and I hear it WORKS! I have an extra reason for my weight loss push right now as well. Before when I lost weight it was for my wedding, and now I want to lose it for my 20-year High School Reunion which is in August this year! I’m also tired of hiding in towels at the pool, feeling unhealthy all the time, and feeling like the “largest” of my group of friends. I need to do this!

I’m nervous that at age 37 I will not be losing the weight as fast as I did at age 26. Darn! I think that’s what happens when you get older, but I hope I’m wrong. Here are my goals for the Nutrisystem Program:

Starting Weight: 165
Goal Weight: 135

Monthly Goals: About 5 pounds (hopefully even maybe a little more)

Exercise Goals (harder for me because I injured Achilles tendon this past fall and have been in Physical Therapy and on exercise restriction): Muscle strengthening exercises, Pilates, and build up some cardio training once I am cleared by the doctor. I’ve also had lower back problems over the past year as well, so I hope losing the weight and getting stronger will help with all my issues! The doctor recommended that I lose weight, so here’s to the journey…….

Are you needing to lose some weight too? Please join me in this journey. Of course the easiest thing to do would be to join Nutrisystem and get the meals. =) If that is not possible for you right now, then please just work on eating healthier, drinking more water, and getting in some form of exercise. Leave comments on my weight loss blog posts and I will comment back! We can share ideas and make each other accountable. Leave a comment today with how much weight you want to lose! • Thanks Sara! And yes I think that’s the key…..the word healthy! I gain EVERYWHERE so no one ever believes I weight as much as I do, but even the doctor said I needed to lose weight and get healthier. Might even help with my back problems and Achilles tendon issues!

  24. You can do it. I am on a weight loss program too – but I have my own style lol. I don’t like to count calories or watch what I eat. I like to be me and do what I want to do.
