Happy Halloween Everyone ~ Parents Can Have Fun Too!!!

Whaa-haa-ha! Happy Halloween
What plans do you have for Halloween? I used to not dress up and only focus on the kids costumes and trick-or-treating instead. That was fun, but now I’ve found it’s still fun to dress up too! My good friend throws the best parties, so the last two years I’ve been dressing up again! What fun!!! Last year my hubby and I were Vinny and Snookie from The Jersey Shore, and this year we were Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse from True Blood!!! It was AWESOME! Her party of course rocked again!! She sure knows how to decorate, cook, and just be the hostess with the mostess!

My kids LOVE Halloween too! This year my daughter is a Hollywood Starlet and my son just wanted to be the same things as he was last year (fine by me)! He’s a Motorcross Racer! We went to our town Trick-or-Treating event on Saturday. I love our town! The downtown area is a quaint New England Main Street with shops right near the water. It’s AWESOME. For this event all the store owners pass out candy and the kids just go store-to-store to trick-or-treat! It’s GREAT!!! Especially after Hurricane Sandy now, I’m so glad we got that event in. We will probably be able to go out on Halloween night, but it might be rainy and wet. We’ll see! At least we did this event and it was beautiful out that day!

  1. Great costumes!! I started dressing up again too.

  2. What Fun! Thanks for sharing. (I don’t have the nerve to dress up myself. But love letting the kids enjoy the fun!) 🙂

  3. Very cute! You look like Sookie!

  4. SO FUN! My husband and I dressed in German Folk Costumes this year for a party. I handed out candy at the boutique I have my furniture in for the Trick or Treat Event and Parade at the shops in out little Downtown. Looks like we are all doing a lot of the same only here the costumes were covered by coats and gloves because it was so cold 🙁 Love your FUN posts!!

  5. You look awesome Kristin!! We love to dress up too! My husband is ALWAYS a jedi, just like my two boys…ALWAYS a jedi or Sith lord of some kind. For the last 2 years my daughter has been yoda, but this year I said NO MORE! I finally have a daughter, and I’m going to get in a few years of dressing her up before she gets a mind of her own; so she got TWO costumes this year. A bit overboard?…yeah. But it was SO worth it. lol. She got to be Cinderella for some Halloween parties and a Fairy Princess/Tinkerbell (depending on who you ask) for the other ones. Definitely a lot of fun. I dressed up as the girl from BRAVE! I already had an awesome green renaissance dress with a little red tint to my hair. We will be going out tomorrow for a Trunk or treat, and then trick or treating around the grandparents neighborhood.

I wish our stores did what your town does, with the fun trick or treat stations all together. That would be a lot of fun too!

  6. This was such a fun post!! 🙂 Your kids are adorable! I am actually in a rush to finish making my halloween costume. I’ve never done anything for halloween before and somehow my boyfriend has dragged me into this whole mess lol. I must admit that I am excited about the dress and will have to find more than one event to wear it to though because it has been a TON of work!!

P.S. I am visiting via Mama Buzz. We commented on the same post! 🙂

  7. Great costumes! My kiddos and I are dressing up as characters from Ninjago! It’s been so fun to watch them work together to plan everyone’s costumes. We’re going to a Trunk or Treat event at our church tonight. Everyone be safe!

  8. Haha! Love YOUR costumes! The kids are cute too! I wish we had a great place like you do to go trick or treating! We’ll just be going to family member’s houses tonight – if it’s not too cold.

  9. Loving the costumes, we decorated our house at the weekend, just couldn’t wait for today. We’re going trick or treating later and then watching a scary family movie together no doubt with lots of popcorn and sweets – Happy Halloween. xx

  10. That looks like a fun event for the kids! We’ll be taking my little guy indoors today to trick or treat at the mall.

  11. Awesome costumes. Looks like it’s a great time!

  12. I love the costumes! So creative. I love EG! What a fun event. We’re heading to a party and then trick-or-treating. Happy Halloween. (We went to a party Saturday night and I dressed up as Loretta Lynn in a polyester 1970’s vintage long dress! My husband went as a beat up hockey player. Have fun!

  13. From Snooki to Sookie, haha! Definitely an upgrade!

  14. Love the costumes you have picked, a lot of fun and the kids just wouldn’t get it!

  15. My night was not quite like yours. I struggled to get one picture of the dog in her third costume before she ate it, lol. We got the little one into his costume and at the third house, he threw up on their walk way because he was so nervous. It was funny, he did not want to stop because he loved the candy, we did make him go home though.

  16. Your kids are so cute! I love your daughter’s dress; perfect for the Hollywood Starlet roll!
You, ma’am, are so pretty and rocked the Snooki look! :p
I went as a waitress last night, and got a few tips (okay, okay, I worked as a waitress, and would like to think they tipped ’cause I do my job well).
The kids were SuperWoman and Pooh (and Tigger, too!). They were cute, and my parents swung them by the restaurant for some extra trick or treating 🙂

  17. K’s costume is so unique! And who can say no to a motocross rider? My son was Spider-Man and my daughter was Little Red Riding Hood for Trunk-or-Treat and a frog for Trick-or-Treat.

  18. Great pictures, always loved Halloween everyone has such a good time.

  19. Awewome Costumes! Especially Vinny & Snookie! who’s Bill & Sookie though?
