CaringBridge and Hallmark Bring You the Caring Messages Card Contest

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for CaringBridge. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Have you heard of CaringBridge? It’s a great way to keep up with people that have health issues and to hear their progress. I have used it for years to keep up with my friend’s niece who is very ill. It’s a great way to send her support messages and to read the online journals and see how her surgeries and progress are going. I love getting the emails in my inbox when her mother posts new journals.

CaringBridge, the nonprofit caring social network, is teaming up with Hallmark to help celebrate National Family Caregiver Month. Caregivers are heroes to many that spend hours giving their time and energy to help those in need. In the last few years of my grandmother’s life, she needed caregivers 24-7. She was blind and had Lupus, and once my grandfather passed away she was all alone and needed to be helped. Having caregivers around the clock made it possible for her to stay in her own home until she died. I met each caregiver that helped her, and each one basically became like family. They are such wonderful and caring people. It makes me happy to see that CaringBridge and Hallmark are coming together to help honor these caregivers with the “Caring Messages” card contest.

Caring Bridge Contest with Hallmark

From October 28th through November 17th, the “Caring Messages” card contest encourages participants to draw on personal experiences as a caregiver or as someone receiving care and create a message of love and support appropriate for a caregiver. Participants can submit one card idea in each of the following categories to the Hallmark Contest Page.

Here are the Categories:

Support and Encouragement: What can you say to lift someone up or help them get through the day? Let them know you’re thinking of them, send happy thoughts and cheer them on.

Compliments and Appreciation: Let someone know how much you admire them: What they do and how they do it.

Words from the Wise: If you’ve experienced something yourself you understand what it’s really like. Write a supportive message for others based on what you’ve learned or what you needed to hear.

This partnership aims to provide patients, caregivers and supporters with love, hope and compassion. Winners will be announced in February, and they will receive a cash prize! Make sure to visit the Hallmark Contest Page and get your entry in today! It’s such a nice way to honor those that give and care for others each day, as well as providing words of support for those in need!

  1. Caring Bridge has helped so many families stay connected during rough times! No one wants to need it, but when emergencies happen, communication is so important. This is a great contest!

  2. I love this, especially the words from the wise one. This touches me in a personal way. When my mom passed away I remember getting the worst cards. That’s the one I’d like to see improved, for the people that have lost someone special.

  3. this is a great contest, with a great message, I will have to enter, thanks for sharing.

  4. What a great program. My mom works at a elderly care home that specializes in dementia patients and it’s such a difficult job – I know that being recognized for her hard work and dedication means so much to her. Thankfully, most families of people she cares for are really generous with thanking her for being so kind/patient/attentive etc which helps her keep going. I’m sure its even more difficult to be caregiver of a loved one because you are just that much more emotionally tied to them that its hard to even watch them be unable to care for themselves. Having a program to support caregivers is a beautiful thing.

  5. What a wonderful thing for them to do. Caregiving is not easy to do & it’s great to show them support.

  6. Before my friend passed away with cancer she was set up on CaringBridge, it was a great way to see her progress and to be updated. It was hard but at least we were updated. I like this program.

  7. I think this is awesome. My MIL still gets cards weekly from an old friend in another state and I can always tell that she received one because she is in a great mood
