A Night Out with Scary Mommy: Can’t Wait to Read Her Book!

A Night Out with Scary Mommy
Tonight I met up with a few of my RI Mom Blogger friends (about 16 of us) for dinner and to attend a book signing together. Audrey McClelland from Mom Generations, who is friends with Jill Smokler from Scary Mommy, was nice enough to set the dinner up! We ate, chatted, and had a bast together! Unfortunately, Jill had to run over to her book signing at Barnes & Noble in Warwick, RI before the meal was even served. This also caused us all to miss her reading, but luckily we still got there in time to have her sign our books. There was still a nice long line when we arrived! Scary Mommy is very popular in Rhode Island! Probably because she tells it like it is, and people here are all about telling it like it is!

I can’t wait to read her book, Confessions of a Scary Mommy! Flipping through it I can tell I will be laughing hysterically while reading it. She titles the chapters things that people from her “confessionals” section on her blog stated and then runs with it! For instance, “Are They Really Letting Me Take This Things Home?” It’s the down and dirty of motherhood; the good, the bad, and the scary. So fun! Also, if you haven’t checked out her site, you totally need to! She is hilarious! And what a down-to-Earth person to meet as well. Tonight was such a treat to be out with my blogging friends and meet Jill. After I finish the book, I will be doing a book review and giveaway, so stay tuned……
