I love the different programs Walmart runs to offer help for people in need. I wrote previously on my site about how Walmart was helping to Fight Against Hunger! Their latest initiative is to give a total of $1.5 million in grants to benefit local communities across the country and provide basic need items like food, diapers, coats, baby formula, and other cold-weather clothing to those in need. What a lovely thing to do this holiday season! Now, this is where you come in America! You have the chance to vote for the charity you believe deserves a portion of the grant. It’s a easy as logging into the 12 Days of Giving on the Walmart Facebook Page and voting for your local nonprofit charity today!
I just finished voting for my charity of choice! It was super easy! I think it took me all of five minutes! You can take the time out to do this for your local area charity today! Simply fill out the nonprofit’s name, contact info, their website, and a photo (optional), as well as write a short description of what they do or why you think they deserve it! Easy as that! You can nominate a local nonprofit between November 1st and November 18th on the Walmart Facebook Page!
I personally nominated The Sharing Locker in East Greenwich who provide mostly non-food pantry items to people in need, such as deodorant, shampoo, razors, liquid dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and dry pet food. I have personally donated boxes of cereal and school supplies to the organization to hand out needed items to people in my community. The Sharing Locker provides a great service for East Greenwich, RI and surrounding areas. That’s why they received a nomination from me!
Remember, between November 1st and November 18th, Americans can vote for local nonprofits on Facebook. On December 10th, Walmart will start the “12 Days of Giving,” by announcing funding to the winning nonprofits that were nominated on Facebook. Go on and vote for your local nonprofit TODAY!
