Nutrisystem Week 13: Big News & Food Finds!

The Thirteenth Week………

Big News From Nutrisystem & Favorite Food Finds
I am in my thirteenth week on the Nutrisystem diet! Even after all these weeks the food is still good and weight is slowly coming off. I am not yet up to my water capacity intake and exercise regiment to make it fall off faster. I was excited this week to hear some news from Nutrisystem!  BIG and EXCITING news!!! Nutrisystem was named as a new National Strategic Partner of the American Diabetes Association and its “Stop Diabetes Movement!” Nutrisystem D clinical trials demonstrated as an effective program for losing weight and controlling blood glucose levels in people living with Type 2 Diabetes! My mom is one of those people. She was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes just a few years ago, and I would love to get her on Nutrisystem to lower her levels and stop her medications!

“Diabetes is one of the fastest growing health problems facing the nation, with nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States living with the disease. Another 79 million, or one in three American adults, have pre-diabetes, which puts them at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes.  Diabetes is a leading cause of adult blindness, kidney failure, lower limb amputations and premature death. Obesity is a major risk factor of type 2 diabetes, but research has shown that by losing about 7% of your body weight or about 15 pounds for someone who weighs 200 pounds, diabetes may be delayed or prevented. Weight loss is also helpful in the management of type 2 diabetes.” This information was from the American Diabetes Association who also says studies prove that Nutrisystem can be an effective way to lose weight and help reduce risks of Diabetes or even help in reducing medications for a better quality of life. I am very excited the two are partnering together to have people lead more healthy lifestyles!

Also, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite food finds for the week! If you like eating at Cracker Barrel, then you would love…..

Chicken & Dumplings
This old fashioned favorite is comfort food at its best! White meat chicken is combined with light, tender dumplings and carrots in a rich, savory chicken gravy. This is a substantial, soul-satisfying dish with homemade flavor and goodness.

And another favorite of mine is (since I have given up pastry treats at Starbucks)……..

Chocolate Chip Scone
Chocolate for breakfast? Absolutely! This rich, dense pastry is filled with chips of semi-sweet chocolate, for bursts of chocolate flavor in every bite. This is great right out of the package, or you can heat it briefly in either the toaster oven or the microwave until the chocolate melts. Yum!

  1. I had a chocolate chip scone this morning! So yummy with the melted chocolate 🙂 Keep up the good work!

  2. Awesome! Keep up the good work. I made “green” smoothies this week for lunch. They were yummy.

  3. That chocolate chip scone looks delicious!! Sadly I haven’t done anything for the last couple of weeks to help my weight loss. I need to get back to running (ha! it’s more walking than running but I can pretend) and making better food choices.

  4. Great job!! I love when companies like this are able to partner with organizations to bring awareness to medical issues. Keep us posted on your mom, knowledge is so important. This week hasn’t been the healthiest for me, but I did buy some cole slaw (sans mayo or any of that crud) and added some balsamic to it. Ate two bowls with dinner – which meant less of the tasty carbs I normally love.

  5. Oh I can’t wait to start this, scheduled for July some time I hope. 🙂

I’m thrilled about the controlling and helping type 2 diabetes! It runs in my family and my dad was diagnosed a few years ago too.

  6. Those scones look really yummy! Congrats on your weight loss! It takes a lot of dedication to stick with something like this! My husband (and actually a bunch of friends) just lost tons of weight with the 90 Day Challenge and they have inspired me to get my butt in shape! Keep up the great work!!

  7. Jaimie A says:

My family just returned from vacation over the weekend so today was the start of healthier eating and exercising. I walked/ran 2.25 miles on my Gazelle and did some sit ups. I also watched what I ate today and plan to continue this for the next fours months before our next vacation. Great job sticking to your diet!

  8. The Chocolate Chip Scones looks so yummy!

  9. I’d love to start this! 😉

  10. Wow- those look delicious! You are doing a great job! 7 pounds is marvelous!

  11. Great job on your loss!!

My healthy journey has been rough the last couple weeks but I think I’m back on track now. Just trying to plug along. As my Alex & Ani bracelet likes to remind me, “It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon!” 😉

  12. Congrats and good job on your weight loss!!

Those pics make me hungry! It’s great to see that the food is so much better than in the past, I think great tasting food makes it much easier to stay on track since you don’t feel like you’re missing out

  13. Those pictures look great! I love chicken and dumplings I can’t wait to try that from Nutrisystem! Thanks so much for sharing your losses and good luck for the next week! Keep up the great work!

  14. I’ve completely stayed away from Starbucks while on Nutrisystem! I still have my bday free coffee certificate! LOL

I love the chicken and dumplings! Funny how I never liked them before. lol My favorite desserts are their cookies! I’m a sucker for their cookies and their fudge cicles! 🙂

My weight came off slowly too. I can’t drink the 64oz of water much less all the exercise they want us to do. I do what I can and have finally dropped 10lbs! I eat veggies as a mid day snack. I can’t stomach more than 1 plate, as I eat a lot of it! LOL I’m usually really hungry between 2 – 3!

Good Luck in reaching your goal!

  15. Those look really good! Great job on having steady weight loss!

  16. These foods look amazing. I am glad you are still loosing and the food is still good. I know how hard it is.

  17. Yay!! Yeah the food makes it easy to stay on track!!
