Cottonelle Collage3It can be a struggle to keep my family healthy when you have a 5 year old, 4 year old, and 13 month old set of little girls!! Each day we work on skills for remembering our clean routine (aka stay healthy routine), like washing our hands, brushing our teeth, and of course, using the bathroom! My older two girls are definitely at the stage when they want to use the toilet on their own, or as my 5 year old would say… “Give me some Privacy, Mom!” I Love that they want to be independent and do these things on their own, but I worry so much that they just aren’t able to do it alone, and really stay CLEAN and most importantly, Healthy.

We have set up some good habits through making up little songs, reading potty books, and watching special kids videos like Elmo’s Potty Time, which highlights the steps of using the potty, wiping, flushing, and then washing your hands. My kids love the whole “ROUTINE” of keeping clean… we can’t even skip a bath night (even when I wish I could, and just put them to bed) because I have trained them so well to know we just need to make sure we are clean every.single.day.

Thankfully, I have found a few tricks that help us get the job done, and one of these is having both wet wipes (flushable cloths) and nice soft dry toilet paper available to the entire family in the bathroom. Especially for the girls, this is a critical tool for them being able to be independent in their own clean routine, and really staying clean and healthy!! Cottonelle has some of the best wet and dry toilet paper options out there, and the fact that it comes with a nice and simple upright dispenser is KEY! Have you ever seen a 4 year old try to use one hand to open a package of wet wipes and sit on the potty and hold themselves up and pull out a wipe….. all at the same time… successfully? Well, in my house that is just a disaster, and right about the time that I hear “Mooooooom!!!! Help me please!”

Now with the upright Cottonelle Fresh Care dispenser, my kids can easily pull one wipe out at a time when they need it. And, I have been able to find a perfect spot located right across from the potty! It really couldn’t be easier, and a nice part of their routine. Cottonelle has enabled my kids to be more independent with their hygiene routines and allowed Mommy to have some peace of mind that we won’t end up with a change of clothes 🙂Cottonelle Collage 2

Now do I also use the wet wipes for other things?? Absolutely. They are too convenient not to. I use them to wipe dirty faces, wipe hands and to do a quick diaper change when I just don’t have time to make it upstairs. It has been a great addition to our daily keeping and staying -clean routine!!

Make sure to check out my shopping trip at Target where I got my great Cottonelle essentials! Also, you can follow Cottonelle on Facebook and Twitter for more information and updates on their fabulous products!

  1. It’s great getting the kids started early in life with good habits that will last.

  2. Great post! I didn’t know Cottonelle had these products, they would be so great to have on hand when traveling. The boys are always getting their hands dirty. I too agree it is very important that kids follow a good cleaning routine daily. I will check these out when i go to target!

  3. These look awesome! We are working on potty training and these would be very helpful at bathroom cleanliness and routine.

  4. I too love these wipes for keeping the family clean following “visits”. My biggest thing with my girls is drinking tons of water to keep all healthy from the inside out. Water is so important for girls.

  5. I have a 10, 7 and 5 year old and we use wipes like they are going out of style!

  6. I love those flushable cloths! I have some for my grandkids to use and they are great! It definitely cuts down on the germ factor I think. Where were these when my kids were young? LOL Great post Kristen!

  7. I absolutely LOVE these cottonelle fresh care flushable wipes!! I buy them all the time. But I SO want that dispenser!!!! I haven’t found it in my stores yet. The disadvantage of living so rural. Its like MONTHS until we get caught up with the newest trend of products. But I want this dispenser so desperately!!

I also have a little girl who will hopefully be potty training in the next few months. I need that dispenser now! lol.

  8. This is one area where you cannot be too clean!! I LOVE the fresh wipes. And that new dispenser is the bomb.

We use the Cottonelle Clean Routine and love it! It really does leave you clean, and for kids who are just potty training, its a great way to ensure that they are getting clean as well!

  10. I’m laughing as I read this – my kiddos are way past the age of needing my help in the bathroom, but this summer at a party at our house with 40 young kids running around, my friend’s son came out of the bathroom, no pants asking, “Can you wipe me?” Once a Mom, always a Mom! I cracked up as he did a full down dog to give me access! These wipes are the perfect thing to help with potty training and teaching kids potty independence! 🙂

  11. These are fabulous and I will be getting them for my grandkids and anyone else who uses my bathrooms. Thank you for sharing…
