Tired of Being a Bully by Dicy McCullough {Giveaway: Book and $20 Amazon Gift Card}

 Dicy McCullough Book

One of my favorite young kids’ book authors is Dicy McCullough. You’ve seen me review some of her other books on my site, like Tired of My Bath. This new book that just came out from her is called Tired of Being a Bully. What I love most about Dicy’s books is that she always has a lesson to teach kids. The main character, John Allen, is consistent throughout all of her books. This book is a bit different, as it is told from the point-of-view of John Allen’s dog, Rocky. Rocky has to deal with a “dog bully” that is new to the neighborhood. You’ll need to read this book to see what Rocky does and what he learns about bullies. It’s such a positive take on the whole bullying situations kids are involved in with other kids.

I love books that teach lessons, because these are great ways to break through larger topics with your kids. My daughter has been dealing with personal friendship issues lately, and reading a book like this can open the conversation of how she is feeling and give her strategies to help her in dealing with other kids.

You can check out Dicy’s books on her site, http://dicymcculloughbooks.com/. Her books include, Tired of My Bath, Tired of School, Tired of Being Different, and Tired if Being a Bully. Each one teaches a different lesson that kids can relate to. You can also check out Dicy on Facebook, Twitter, and her Blog.

  139. I would love, love, love this book, my Granddaughter is getting ready for preschool and I can already see little ones only a year older bulling her just in front of the house! She doesn’t know how to take it because, she looks at everyone as friends! As soon as she see’s kids (no matter what or who) first thing she say’s is “My Friends” and wants to run and play. I’m trying to teach her that not everyone is nice, nor her friend because when they turn around and be mean she can’t understand why! She is 3 1/2 years old, has all kinds of toys but, there’s one who is mean every time there outside if any of her friends are around! But when none are she plays nice, so my Granddaughter gets confused and I haven’t figured out the right way to tell her and this book would help tremendously!

  140. Dicy is a very inspiring author. It is amazing to see her work ethic she has and passion that she has for writing. Every time I turn around, she publishing a new book. The books are all excellent too. I’m glad that she is a friend of mine. To see her living out her dreams in retirement, it’s amazing. The woman is driven and her drive is contagious. There’s no excuse to give up on your dreams. Thank you Dicy for being such a great person and friend. Keep on writing!!
