Out of the Vault: Cinderella
~ Celebrating with the Retailtainment Event & Party ~
My daughter, family, and friends celebrated the release from the Disney vault of Cinderella, the Diamond Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Edition that is out for a limited time. We started last week with shopping for a Cinderella dress at Walmart and purchasing items for our upcoming party. We used the Royal Ball Augmented Reality 2.0 App as we shopped and had a blast. You can get the app from scanning a QR Code at the store or through searching your App Store on your smartphone. We followed the app to different sections in Walmart to look for items, as well as take cool pictures with the app that transforms anyone into Cinderella. It was so exciting shopping and getting ready for our Cinderella, but the best was yet to come!
Retailtainment Event at Walmart
We were lucky enough to find a Walmart in our area hosting the talked about Retailtainment Event. It was very cool and made us even more excited to buy the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack while we were there. A very nice woman was working the event. She showed us about the DVD, gave us some coloring sheets and activities, and cut us all a yummy piece of cake with Cinderella rings on it. My daughter was dressed in her Cinderella costume for the event. She was so excited! It was very cute! She was so excited about the Royal Ball App that we used the first time we shopped last week, so she decided to show the lady how it worked. I think the lady was pretty impressed how she could use the iPhone so easily. We had a great time at the event and bought the Combo Pack for our party!
Cinderella Party
Finally the day arrived ~ the day to watch Cinderella and party with our friends! We decided not to watch the movie until the party day so it could be all of our first time to view it! My daughter was super excited and got all fancy in her Cinderella dress quite early. She dressed her American Girl Doll as Belle. We used all of the party products we bought at Walmart to decorate the dining room. We also made party favor bags and got a few extra princess dresses for those that did not have their own.
We also got an awesome treat for the party! Living in Rhode Island there is a special kind of cake you can get from Allie’s Donuts called a donut cake. It is the BEST THING! You wouldn’t even believe it until you tried it. The kids were so excited to hear we special ordered one for this event. They made it in the shape of a princess castle for us, used Cinderella colors, and wrote, “Cinderella DVD Release Party” on the cake. Anytime an Allie’s Donut cake is involved, you know the event is super special!
The girls all had a fabulous time watching Cinderella, playing dress-up, and eating donut cake. They were all so mesmerized by the movie, and the picture quality was just amazing. Of course I loved watching this classic that I used to watch as a child. It was also nice to see my own daughter get the same enjoyment out of this movie. There were many giggles throughout the movie from the girls, and they loved seeing Cinderella at the end with the prince. The girls got goodie bags on the way out at the end of the party, and I also used the Royal Ball Augmented Reality App to take each child’s photo and email it to their moms. That was another highlight of the party ~ the kids loved seeing themselves on the app as Cinderella. The moms loved getting emailed the pictures too.
Overall, we had a fabulous Cinderella Celebration this week! The Retailtainment was a blast and made us even more excited about buying the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack while at Walmart. The party was the icing in the “donut” cake! It was so fun and all the girls at the party loved it! The movie was fabulous, and I loved having the Royal Ball App to send pictures of the kids to their moms! We are so happy we got our hands on this movie, which is for a limited time! I love the Disney princesses and my daughter did as well. I am so excited that she just had her first daughter and we can pass the tradition on. She loved Cinderella and we spent many months watching the VHS tape over and overand
