Champions for Kids ~ Dial Into Giving SIMPLE Service Project #DialCFK #CBias

Helping Kids and Others In Need
~ Everyone Can Use More Hygiene Products ~

All my readers know how important the Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service projects are to me and my family. My kids and I have helped donating cereal to people in need, dental products, and school supplies just to name a few. You can see most of them in the “charity” tab on my site! We just absolutely love helping others and this project was no exception. Our mission this time was to help with getting hygiene products for kids and other people that might need it. It’s called Dial Into Giving! We usually donate to our local town, but this time we thought we would donate somewhere different.

My friend works at the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless in Providence, RI. She is always telling me how people (kids and adults) are in need of any donations. I decided that this place would love to receive a donation of hygiene products. People need these type of things.

My son came with me to Walmart to find some products. We looked around and really loved the Dial products because of their price and known quality. We could pick up bottles of liquid soap for 98 cents a piece! We also decided to grab some Dial bar soap, wet wipes, and deodorant for older kids and adults that might need it.

Since it’s so close to Halloween, we thought we would make our donation a little timely. We decided that we would give people in need a “treat” and hopefully make their Halloween a little bit happier!

We put all our donation items into two pumpkins and dropped them off at my friend’s house. She is going to take them to work and get the products to people that need them! My kids always love doing nice things for others. They liked the idea that instead of just giving out candy to people this holiday we could give out something even more important ~ hygiene products to people that need them.

What can you do to help out in your community? Can you find somewhere to donate a few hygiene products to? I bet you can! And at the prices of Dial products you can afford to give just a little. Every bit helps!

It really helps to teach my kids to think of others and their needs, instead of always thinking of themselves and what they want.

  26. I love this idea! I think it is so important for kids to learn when they are young the importance of doing something for someone and not expect anything in return! I love doing this one: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/ for Christmas with my kids, they really enjoying putting a box together 🙂

  27. Be proud Mom, your doing a service to your kids as well as the community teaching to give back, yah to you!

  29. I use my shopping with coupons to get cheap items to donate to a group that raises foster kids. I have always taught my kids the importance of giving to others. My oldest son is 15 and this year he came home and told me one of his new teachers said that “you should always ask what is in it for me and if the answer is nothing, then do not bother”. Let me tell you, this was the first time I ever scheduled a meeting with a teacher and principal the first day of school. I could not believe this teacher was setting that example. I love that I am not the only one teaching my children to give. Thanks for sharing.

  30. Yet another great lesson on giving! You are such a good mom! 🙂
