Dental Supply Donations Has Us Smiling ~ #SpinbrushCFK #CBias

We LOVE Donating to Kids in Need
~ This Time We Were Able to Help Kids with Dental Supplies ~
My kids surprising love going to the dentist. They think sitting in the chair is a blast, and they especially love getting new toothpaste, a new toothbrush, and some stickers when we leave. They both go every six months for a check-up, and their teeth and gums have been in great health so far. They like to brush their teeth (especially with a fun Spinbrush), as well as use flossers and mouthwash. When I told them some kids don’t have money for things like toothbrushes and toothpaste to keep their teeth and gums healthy, they were shocked and wanted to help! I told them we could get some items to help a few kids in need through the Spin Into Action SIMPLE Service Project run through Champions for Kids. As you saw in my first post, we decided to buy items to make a girls’ pack and boys’ pack of dental goods while shopping at Walmart. The kids were excited to make the packs for donations, as well as getting new toothbrushes for themselves! We got the awesome Spinbrushes which they loved decorating and making them their own.

We wanted to donate to our local elementary school. We decided that the school nurse would know who best was in need in our local community, so we wanted to give them to her! The day we went to make our donation we were reminded the school is under construction for the summer so no one was there. We thought the next best place to go would be the school district main office. The staff there were working and very happy to receive our donation. We handed it to Dr. Mercurio, Superintendent of our school district, who said he would pass it on to children in need. We had a girls’ dental pack, a boys’ dental pack, and 36 tubes of toothpaste to donate. We stopped by our dentist, Dr. Sarah Fallon of East Greenwich, earlier in the day to see if they had any items to add to our donation. They gladly donated many tubes of toothpaste to help kids. That was very generous of them and we appreciated it!

My kids and I absolutely love Champions for Kids (CFK) because we feel they have the best campaigns to get people doing good for others. They teach people how important even a small donation can make. We would have loved to have donated even more than we did, but as I’ve told my kids ~ every little bit helps! If everyone would just do something small for those in need, it would add up to make a huge impact on society. I challenge YOU to take the CFK challenge of “Buy 2, Give 1” and help out your community as well. I would love to hear from you if you did! Take a picture making your donation and post it on my Facebook wall. Let’s see how many donations we can make and help those in need together! It truly takes a village…..
