Mango~Peaches & Cream Smoothies

We are always looking for yummy new smoothie recipes, or good healthy ingredients to create our own smoothies. My kids do fine with getting most fruits and vegetables in their diets, but they really get them down with I include them in smoothies! My son just recently had his tonsils and adenoids removed, so a nice cold healthy smoothie is perfect for him.

We love to visit our local Walmart Superstore to get everything we need. We decided we were in the mood for something with mangoes, so we decided we would find some fresh mangoes and create a smoothie recipe of our own.

It was a bit crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but we were on a mission to create the perfect Mango Smoothie. We first found a fresh mango in the fruits and vegetable section. We then decided we needed a base for the smoothie. We went to the milk section and found some Silk Fruit&Protein Mango Peach Juice Blend. We thought this would be perfect for our smoothies. We liked the idea of the mango-peach combination, so we decided we would also include fresh peaches, Greek-style peach yogurt, and some Silk Vanilla Soy Milk.  We got some Cool Whip as well to mix in as our take on a “Mango-Peaches & Cream” smoothie!

Unfortunately, there were no fresh peaches to be found. The shelves were empty. We checked out, and then the lady at the counter mentioned we could substitute the fresh peaches for frozen peaches! Well yes, why did I not think of that? We went back and found the frozen peaches. Now we were all set to go home and create our healthy smoothies!

We got home and unloaded all the groceries. It was actually a pretty big shopping day as we needed some weekly staples (i.e. cereal, bread, milk, bananas, etc.). We lined up all the ingredients that we decided would go well together. Here is what we came up with:

Mango~Peaches & Cream Smoothies
1 1/4 cups Silk Fruit&Protein Mango-Peach Juice Blend
1/4 cup Silk Vanilla Soy Milk
1 Greek Chobani Peach Yogurt
1 Cup Sliced Frozen Peaches
1 Cup Fresh Chopped Mango
8 Ice Cubes
A Few Tablespoons of Cool Whip to mix in and top off
Slice of Mango for garnish

We put all the ingredients in the blender, mixed it up, poured some smoothie in a glass and putting a tablespoon of Cool Whip in between small pours. We topped it off with a spoonful of Cool Whip and a freshly sliced mango piece.

It was so yummy! The kids loved it, and my husband loved it! What a hit! The best part is that it tastes like a dessert, but it is so healthy and full of protein. It is also an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin D, and calcium. I love it when my kids like healthy food and drinks. It makes things much easier.

Silk also makes a Mixed Berry Fruit&Protein and Strawberry Banana Fruit&Protein. I’m sure we will be using our creative skills to come up with some tasty smoothies using those as the base as well.

  17. PEACHES!! That’s what I should have gotten instead of frozen pineapple! With my texture issues having fruit is very difficult, and I got Mango chunks (frozen) and plain yogurt to have along with juice in a smoothie. Sadly I got pineapple thinking it would blend away anything ‘off’ texture wise and… sadly that didn’t happen. *shudder*
I will try the peach chunks and hopefully do okay!

  18. This looks gorgeous, Im loving how fresh the fruit looks aswell!! Ive stopped going to one of our supermarkets due to the fruit and veg looking dated.

  31. Seriously! This is NO FAIR!! I have been stalking our stores to get that Silk Fruit and Protein stuff for over a month! I want to try it out SO badly!!
We are HUGE SILK fans in our house as all the kids are allergic to dairy and the husband is lactose intolerant. Silk is definitely a great substitute for dairy. Their almond milk is one f our favorites, and the husband will only drink SILK chocolate soy. The other brands are a big NO for him.

Now, As for the smoothie, looks DIVINE and if our stores ever get the fruit&protein in stock like I’ve asked, I will definitely be making it up!

  32. Yum! I like mango, orange, and pineapple smoothies. 🙂

  33. Those look so good! My guys would love them!

  34. Yummy! That looks really good!

    Dawn

  35. I love mango. The mango Silk drink is really good too. If only they were just a tad cheaper at the grocery store…

  36. I love smoothies. I’ve never tried a peach smoothie, this makes me think I should.
