After Holiday Blues….

So, the gifts are open, the family is gone, and the dishes are piled a mile high. The holidays that you’ve been preparing for over the past month or two are done. It can be sad for some or maybe just a relief for others. How do you feel? I think I feel a little sad. I loved seeing my kids enjoy the morning of opening gifts. We got to spend the holiday with some family friends, and then I even got to see members of my own family (which is nice because we live 7 hours from our family). I guess it must be that I know we have to wait another entire year until we celebrate this big again. I LOVE the holidays!!! What are your thoughts?

I also REALLY love that my 7-year old daughter and 4-year old son BOTH believe so much in Santa, our Elf on the Shelf, and just the whole magic of the season. I love seeing that and I can only hope it will be the same next year (fingers crossed).

  1. Our holiday are not over yet. 2 more days of Chanukah!! I really love the holidays too! Merry Christmas!

  2. I’m not big on the whole Christmas thing, although I’m working on it for my son’s sake. I think I may have overdone it this year, but it was fun – although I am 100% exhausted!!

  3. A little bit of both sad, happy. Sad that it came so fast and left even faster…but happy because Lord knows I’m still tired…lol It was fun seeing all the smiles on the kids faces!

  4. I am relieved. I am tired of shopping and tired of baking!

  5. I am a little sad- normally we leave the tree up until at least after the new year but this year our daughter got a play kitchen and the tree was in the way of where we wanted to put it so we took the tree down the day after Christmas 🙁 But, I love seeing the light in her eyes when she plays with the kitchen so it is worth it!

  6. Sad….because that means the year is almost over : (

  7. still in recovery mode but had a great time and yes, I do miss it and wish it came sooner.

  8. I am HAPPY it is over. Christmas was never my favorite holiday. A lot of work and a lot of waste for the environment. I feel our society has lost the meaning of Christmas. I do minimize with my kids and even recycle used toys (they are young). I hope to be able to recycle toys in the future. My tree will be down today or tomorrow b/c I have a 10 month old who loves to pull on it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the music, lights, and services but it does get to be too much.
